Conroy Motorsport in association with Federal Motorsport Tyres set a high goal throughout the weekend of the Dial Before You Dig AMC 500,round four of the Australian Manufacturers Championship at Melbournes prestigious Sandown Park International Raceway in Victoria. The Teams Honda Integra Type S co driven by Jake Williams and Richard Mork was crowned the Class D Production Touring winner finishing in the top ten, plus they were the first non turbo car to finish amongst a field of thirty odd cars. The young Williams and the experienced Mork combined to bring extensive endurance expertise and skillful driving to this proven team. The event followed the exciting evolution of the ever popular mini enduro's of the AMC calendar with the race to be run over two 250 km heats comprising of 80 laps each, and was held on 10th and 11th of September. It is an opportunity for teams to showcase their cars and skills at a National level and compete at a premium race venue. Williams and Mork competed in Class D Production Touring against experienced rival teams with a well orchestrated campaign by team owner Terry Conroy and his race engineer Steve Kennett Tribe who managed and coordinated the whole operation. Included in the team was Jakes father Steve Williams, himself a professional endurance racer with many years of race car preparation behind him. The Honda was fitted with Federal’s race-bred FZ-201 R Spec Radial tyre that covered the whole race and qualifying without a tyre change, which no other team could even match, highlighting Federal’s technology and product innovation in its consistent performance. Federals FZ201's stability under brakes--cornering and outstanding durability contributed to Conroy Motorsports Honda Integra 100% finishing record in two 12 Hour an 8 hour a 6 hour and the 500 over the past three years of endurance racing in Australia with class victories and top ten finishes.
